Primary Children's Medical Center holds annual KSL Radiothon

Salt Lake City - The 2009 KSL/Primary Children's Medical Center Radiothon will broadcast live from the hospital in Salt Lake City beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, and ending at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.  Listeners can tune in to KSL 1160 AM for information about how to donate.  For Spanish listeners, the last 3 years have been broadcast by Bustos Media which can be found locally on KXTA 1600 AM La Bonita.

This year marks the 33rd annual radiothon for children in need at PCMC.  Funds raised during the event are used to help children and their families who cannot afford their medical needs.  During the radiothon, KSL Newsradio hosts will interview patients, families, and staff about their experiences at Primary Children's.

Notable guests in the past have been former Utah Senator and astronaut Jake Garn, Senator Bob Bennett, and Governor Jon M. Huntsman Jr.

Since 1977, the radiothon has raised $6.7 million for children.  Last year, a record amount of nearly half a million dollars was raised.  This year, the hospital hopes the event will generate similar amounts to aid the hospital's mission and needs the community's help to do that.

"Primary Children's serves over 200,000 children and their families each year including hundreds of children from Cache Valley," says Doug Nielsen, assistant administrator.  "Support from the community provides Primary Children's with a margin of excellence in service that wouldn't be possible otherwise."

Primary Children's Medical Center was founded in 1922.  It has been rated in the top 10 best children's hospitals in the United States and serves over 200,000 children in the intermountain region including all of Utah and four surrounding states.  The KSL Newsradio/Primary Children's Medical Center Radiothon began in 1977 and has been broadcasted by KSL Newsradio every year since.

Subject:  With economy tanking, local group offers financial wisdom

Dear Charles,

The biggest thing on everyone's mind today is the uncertainty of our country's economic future and more specifically, their own economic future.  It lurks in the back of everybody's mind like the boogie-man in a terrible nightmare.  There is a non-profit group founded in Logan that offers financial education that can help ease people's fears and help them make wise financial decisions.

Cache Valley Area Investors Association's (CVAIA) purpose is to educate people about how to become financially independent, regardless of their current situation.  The goal is to help people reach a point financially where they have passive income, more inflow than expenses, which can free them up to do what they really love doing.

The group meets every other Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Cache County Chamber of Commerce.  Any questions the group may come across, or would like to learn more about, President and Founder Preston Parker invites professionals to come and teach CVAIA.  In summer 2007, Parker recognized that certain philosophies taught to him by his mentors were working financially so he wanted to help educate others about these techniques as well.

If people learn the right mentality and approaches to investing, they can all be successful in what they desire.  People should be able to spend their time doing something they love, not just a job that provides an income.  Passive Income largely makes this possible.  Cache Valley Area Investors Association (CVAIA) teaches people how to increase passive income.  CVAIA embraces the Law of Attraction, Law of Abundance, and Law of Exhange.  They practice the methods found in the ideologies of books including Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Wealthy Barber, The Millionaire Next Door, Atlas Shrugged, The Automatic Millionaire, and The Secret.  CVAIA began in August 2007 and now has members from many geographical locations and from all walks of life.  The members come together with the same belief: that education mitigates the risks of investing.

Please contact me with further inquiries or to set up a time for interviews.

Sincerely,

Matt Nielsen

Non-profit investor education group offers free classes to public

LOGAN, Utah - Cache Valley Area Investors Association (CVAIA) offers local residents opportunities to get educated on how to become financially independent, regardless of where they are financially.

CVAIA is a non-profit, member driven group, which aims to help people understand how they can be financially independent by learning about and attaining passive income, where a person's financial income is above that of their expenses.  The first step for anyone is to get educated.  There are plenty of free education opportunities out there that only costs a person their time, says Preston Parker, president and founder of CVAIA.

Parker believes that everyone should work a job that they love and not have to worry about money.  "Our organization is available for any individual who wants to understand how to become financially independent, no matter what their current situation is."

CVAIA embraces the Law of Attraction, the Law of Abundance, the Law of Exchange as well as other philosophies.  "Within three to ten years, you can become financially independent by applying these philosophies," says Parker.

Parker believes in financial health and wealth which begins with good social health, mental, physical, and spiritual health.  As these needs are met, an individual will be more successful at building the foundations for financial independence.

Cache Valley Area Investors Association holds free meetings every other Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Cache County Chamber of Commerce.   Any questions that we may have, we invite professionals to come speak to us and teach us, Parker says.
